Becca Starr

When and how did you get started at CFN?
We joined CFN in December of last year. I’ve been doing Crossfit for around 4 years. When we moved up north, we wanted a gym closer to home and really hit the jackpot with CFN!

Name one thing in your life you are currently thankful for:
Name ONE thing?? Can I do two? I’m gonna do two. I’m so thankful for my family. I have the best support system there is and I couldn’t be more thankful for them. I am also so thankful for my health. I’ve found myself thinking more about the wellness continuum lately and how being pregnant can really push you in the other direction. Knowing I’m fit and healthy to start really gives me peace of mind heading into this journey.

Who inspires you and how?
I have got to say my husband inspires the crap out of me like every day. He does so well balancing his work, family, health, and social life, and still manages to make me feel like his top priority. He’s the most even-keeled, reasonable individual, which is really great because I am often neither of those things!

What’s your favorite food?
I love all things Asian!! Crab Rangoon, stir fry, fried rice, lo mein, pad thai, you name it! I also have recently fell in love with Indian food, Butter Chicken namely. I could probably eat that every day. Ooo and Ice Cream!!! 🙂 my pregnancy is showing.

Would you rather spend a weekend in the mountains or at the beach?
Initially, I would say the beach. I love being in the sun and baking, but I also like adventure and activity. On our honeymoon in March, we went to St. Lucia and got to hike the Gros Piton mountain and it was the coolest thing of all time. It was on an island (so beach), but also had a mountain! So, I would choose both!

What’s your favorite type of CrossFit workout?
I like long grinder workouts, where you just have to keep going. Holiday workouts with hero WODs are my favorite, where you just want to go home and lay down after. I may not be the strongest or the fastest, but I can keep going! Hence, my past love for long distance running.
