Tell me a little bit about your fitness background. Did you play sports growing up? Attend other gyms in the past? Workout at home?
I played basketball and ran track and cross country in high school to stay in shape for basketball. I have been active most of my life, but have only been consistently working out for about a year. I started out doing HIIT workouts at home, and have never worked out at the gym.
What made you decide to start CrossFit? How did you end up at CrossFit Northland?
I saw a couple documentaries on CrossFit and a friend of mine has been really into CrossFit for awhile now. She was by far the fittest person I know, so when I was looking for something to try when I got board working out at home CrossFit was my first choice. CFN was the closest gym to my house, and I liked that I could come in a meet with someone to get a feel for it. After talking to Jason it seemed like a great fit for me.
What is the most valuable part, in your opinion, about group training?
Being able to see other people at all different stages of their fitness journey. There are a lot of things I couldn’t do when I first started but seeing other people work toward and accomplish their goals is really encouraging.
What are some changes you’ve noticed in your 90 days at Crossfit Northland?
I have lost 4.7% body fat in three months. That is a huge change!
What is your favorite thing about CFN?
The coaches. They are great.
What do you hope to accomplish in your next 90 days?
I hope to add some more gymnastics skills!
