  1. What inspired you both to join CFN, and how has your experience been so far?
  • Sam: Caroline was the biggest driver for getting us involved at CFN. I remember having our intro meeting with David and saying “I’m sold, let’s go for it” at the end of it. It has been the best decision we could’ve made and are dreading the day we have to move and find another gym. Our day to day lives have improved tremendously and we are grateful for a wonderful community to be a part of.
  • Caroline: My parents participated in CrossFit for a while a few years ago and they highly recommended it. When we were looking for local gyms to join CFN popped up and since we both wanted to improve in our strength training we thought it was worth a try. After the introduction interview we were hooked!
  1. How has working out together impacted your fitness journey and relationship?
  • Sam: It’s like a mini date every day we go together and we are better for it. It’s also a great way to justify a weekly waffle house run!
  • Caroline: It has impacted our relationship by giving us a designated time and place where we can reconnect after the work day and something we can do together. Being able to encourage one another through our fitness journey in and outside the gym has been so fun! It makes us feel like a team – fitness is so much easier when you have your best friend encouraging you and working through it with you.
  1. What specific results or improvements have you seen since joining CFN?
  • Sam: I can do daily tasks throughout the work day and work around the house without getting exhausted, sore, or uncomfortable. It’s the little things that go the distance, even squatting down to pick something off the floor is much more comfortable.
  • Caroline: Specifically I have noticed my back pain after work has virtually disappeared. I also have improved in all my Olympic lifts and endurance with cardio. To be able to see my lean muscle mass increase and my body fat percentage decrease with each check-in has been incredibly encouraging too!
  1. What do you enjoy most about the CFN community and environment?
  • Sam: The community and environment is completely what you make it. If you want to push yourself to go to the games you can do that and if you want to create a healthier lifestyle you can also do that. There’s a spot for anyone and the overall community is supportive in whatever you are working towards.
  • Caroline: I really enjoy the community’s encouragement and mindset when it comes to a healthy lifestyle. CFN members want you to succeed and want to help you meet your goals. It is also a consistent environment no matter who is coaching or who is in class which is so helpful when working on new skills or things you are not as confident in.
  1. How do you balance fitness with your busy schedules, and how has CFN helped with that?
  • Sam: It started out as balancing it between work and family priorities, but at this point it has become a priority in our lives.
  1. Is there a particular moment or accomplishment in the gym that stands out for each of you?
  • Sam: I took a blood test in September 2023 with a lot of out of limit results. During my annual blood test a year later I was well within the limit of everything and it was nice to see that all the hard work is paying off in a way that impacts me greatly.
  1. What advice would you give to other couples or individuals considering joining CFN?

Sam: Specifically to couples – CFN offers a great place to fit in no matter where you are at in your life or fitness journey. Caroline and I have had very different goals throughout our start and the journey of crossfit with each of them being met in one way or another. The community is amazing!
