How long have you been a member of CrossFit Northland?
In August, it will. be 5 years that I’ve been with CFN.
What brought you into CFN?
CFN member, Danielle Kohler, convinced me to start testing out Crossfit workouts in her garage. I did WODs with her for 9 months before I joined the gym. I will never forget the horrible chipper workout she had me do for my first workout. I couldn’t function normal for a week. 😂
Tell us about your fitness/health background?
I never went to a gym prior to CFN. I was always skinny, and I could eat what I wanted with no changes to my size. I was completely oblivious to the fact that skinny didn’t equal healthy.
What are some changes you’ve noticed in yourself during your time here at CFN? (Physically, mentally, capabilities, daily life, etc.)
I have gained an incredible amount of physical strength that I never had before. I see muscles I didn’t even know existed. Ask Danielle! I started comparing my quads to her quads. Haha! Mentally, it has helped with depression/anxiety issues.
What kinds of things can you do now, that you were not able to do when you first started CrossFit? (inside or outside of the gym).
Overall, my strength level has increased to where it never was before. I remember when Danielle handed me the 45lb. bar and could barely lift it off the ground.
How has CFN played a role in your fitness and healthy journey?
I have been completely committed since I joined. I love getting a workout in. I just feel better mentally and physically.
In your opinion, what is the most valuable aspect of CrossFit Northland?
The support of the CFN family and valuable friendships I have made throughout the years is the most valuable aspect in my opinion.
