Q: How long have you been a member of CrossFit Northland? What brought you into our gym?
A: I have been a member for almost 2 years. Family members encouraged me to give it a try. I was hooked after just one session ! I was impressed by the mental toughness and perseverance shown by all.

Q: Tell us a little about your fitness background?
A: My professional career taught me the importance of physical activity. The toll of physical inactivity was evident in society. I enjoy walking, hiking and yoga. I was lacking in the weight bearing and upper body exercises.

Q: What are some of your favorite CrossFit movements?
A: I am on cloud nine every time I climb the rope. It makes my whole day brighter knowing I can do it!

Q: What is on your CrossFit bucket list?
A: I would love to do just one muscle up when I grow up.

Q: What is on your general bucket list?
A: I want to maintain a healthy lifestyle in my golden years. While maintaining a healthy body, I can be of service to others.

Q: What is something most people do not know about you?
A: I used to compete in roller skating. Dance skating not roller derby.

Q: How would you describe CrossFit Northland to someone?
A: CrossFit is true to their mission. Recognizing those that have fought for our freedom. CrossFit teaches us to dig deep while working our bodies. Every movement can be adjusted to an individual’s capability. There is a sense of camaraderie, especially after completing a hard workout together.

Q: What does “living life on your own terms” mean to you, and in what ways are you living life on your terms?
A: Having a life purpose is important to me. Having a healthy strong body ables me to serve others in a greater capacity. I want to join my kids and grandkids during their adventures.

Q: What do you enjoy most about CFN?
A: I really draw from the Coaching staff. Their instruction encourages me to push harder. I love seeing others reach their goals .

Q: What motivates you and keeps you coming back week after week?
A: If I have taken a vacation or time off from CrossFit, I really start missing it. I believe it’s the integrity and the caring of the coaches. In addition, the endorphin release becomes addicting!

Q: What PRs or accomplishments are you most proud of?
A: I am proud of my bench press and front squat.

Q: If you could have one super power, what would it be?
A: God’s supernatural power is my go to! There is no other explanation of why I am able to do some of the movements.

Q: What advice do you have for people just getting started with CrossFit?
A: Don’t compare yourselves to anyone else. Start slow and build. Relax, it will come together in time.

Q: What is one piece of advice you’d give to someone that is considering starting CrossFit?
A: There is no time like now to get started. Believe in yourself. If I can do it, so can you!
