We do Bring-a-Friend (BaF) workouts at CFN once every quarter as a way for friends of the community who are interested in the way we workout to experience CFN with a friend! They are fun, inclusive, community-driven workouts meant to meet you where you are.
What should I expect for a workout?
After a short warm-up, we will stretch as a group, perhaps play a game, then we’ll go over each of the movements in our workout, explaining range of motion and scaling options, before jumping into the workout for the day. We select movements for our BaF workouts that are inclusive and can be progressed (made harder) or regressed (easier) depending on current fitness levels, limitations, etc. If there are movements you aren’t familiar with or comfortable performing, a coach will be right there to help you select an appropriate modification!
When should I arrive?
If you can arrive 10-15 min before the scheduled class time that will be enough for the coach to introduce themselves, sign you in, get a waiver signed (if you haven’t already), as well as give you the quick lay of the gym.
What should I wear? What should I bring?
We’d recommend you to wear comfortable clothes and shoes for working out in, something you can walk, run, and move around in without issue. Depending on the time of year a sweatshirt or coverup that you can put on or take off as you warm-up/cool-down can be beneficial, as can be a bottle of water if you find yourself needing to grab a drink midworkout (we also have a water fountain for you to fill up your bottle should you run out). Besides that just bring a positive attitude and you’ll be good to go!
I’m nervous!
That’s completely normal! You’re stepping into an arena you may have little-to-no experience in…but we’ve specifically designed the BaF workouts to be accessible to anyone, regardless of athletic background, physical ability, or experience with CrossFit.
We’re excited to have you! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@crossfitnorthland.com.
